“Adrenaline Fueled” - South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP)

In the heart of Georgia lies a hub of high-octane energy and roaring excitement - the South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP). Established in 2012 by the passionate racer and automotive enthusiast, Raul Torres, this privately owned racing paradise has carved its name in the annals of drag racing history.

Over its 22-year existence, SGMP has become synonymous with hosting historic races, none more renowned than the Lights Out and No Mercy events orchestrated by Donald Long and Duck X Productions. These biannual spectacles draw thousands of fervent fans from across the nation to witness the pinnacle of small tire racing prowess.

Spanning 4405 feet, SGMP offers both 1/8 and 1/4 mile competitions, catering primarily to small tire radial, prepped heads-up racing. However, diversity thrives within its schedule, featuring bracket, nostalgia, truck, big rim, no prep, and junior dragsters, showcasing a tapestry of racing styles.

The stadium-like seating with a capacity exceeding 5000, adorned with distinctive Grabber Glue and Neon Green aesthetics, ensures an unforgettable backdrop for every race and captures the essence of SGMP in every snapshot. The sprawling pit area, offering over 400 paved spots, exemplifies SGMP's commitment to providing a clean and efficient space for racers to showcase their passion without the encumbrance of dirt and weeds.

The calendar at SGMP is a mosaic of diverse racing experiences. From the adrenaline-pumping No Time Racing to nostalgic events and the spirited High  School Shootout benefiting local students, the track pulsates with events that resonate beyond its asphalt.

Beyond the thrill of speed, SGMP prides itself on community engagement. Initiatives like the Thanksgiving food donation program demonstrate the track's commitment to giving back. Moreover, what sets SGMP apart is not just its electrifying races but its strategic location. Nestled amidst major cities like Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville, and a stone’s throw away from South Carolina and Alabama, SGMP stands as a beacon for racing enthusiasts across the region. Raul Torres's ownership infuses SGMP with a personal touch. With three  decades of industry expertise, Torres steers the track with a racer's insight and a profound dedication to preserving a legacy for generations of racers to come.

The future of SGMP promises an expansion of experiences. The anticipated launch of the Mud Park in 2024, featuring Dirt Drags and Bounty Holes, marks an exhilarating leap into off-road racing. Moreover, new events such as ADRL, Drift Events, Concerts, and an array of car and truck shows further enrich the tapestry of experiences awaiting enthusiasts.

At SGMP, victory comes with lucrative rewards. From recent events like the Battle of the Thrones and No Mercy, which saw winners walking away with a staggering $250,000, to typical weekends boasting purses exceeding $25,000, SGMP ensures its racers are duly rewarded for their skill and passion.
